I am good with anything that helps maintain interest and encourages team play.

I only have about 28K in resources. But make most of my points the hard way and with some occupations can create a sufficient resource points top up.
Part of my issue with more resources is I then also need more population.
But certainly doesn't hurt to have as many storage facilities as one can.
Ultimately, I'm not so concerned how one makes their points, just that they make them!

I have 100k in resource storage and while I find that it is helpful to drop all of this at T10, I don't find it necessary. Since the Plarty era, it is easy enough to make min without it. The key is really just to get the Plarty to R4 or higher and EF's to R4 or higher and the rest is just grinding. Plarty's and EF's do not require Nanos to make and everyone should mass produce and rank them to make it easy.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but drops were readily available at the last 2x SP event and many members will drop anytime if someone asks. There really is not an excuse. I think the biggest issue is FUKingZ2 not making it interesting to keep playing all the time. Hopefully this will change.

I read something on the forums about a guild that each member contribute say $1 via paypal and they buy an iTunes card for the winner of an event (or could be split into several winners). Sounds like an ok idea to me....contribution could be optional. Might be a pain to set it up and have someone trustworthy make the collections and distribute the winnings...but its an idea.

I'm going to disagree with rjruch. I think our BS scores are lower than they should be because people are not playing often enough to rank their forces and they are not taking the time to prepare for the BS. If we can encourage people to play more often on a regular basis, then their forces will be ready when we finally get another BS, and the game will be a lot more fun for all of us.
Most of the people participating in this discussion already seem well engaged as we can see from their participation in chat and drops. Many others are not showing up. A chat message that says, "Oh, did I miss a BS?" is a pretty good indication that the person is not playing the game.
The ultimate test is a high score in a BS. I agree with that, rjruch. But we cannot achieve that unless people are playing the game.
For me, giving drops and cleaning drops has been one of the best ways to make the game seem more collaborative and more fun. It takes a long time to rank some of these forces, and the drops help. Too bad we cannot drop naval battles.
