I've been thinking it would be fun and hopefully morale boosting if we introduced some kind of awards to follow each BS. We could announce the winners on this site, as well as in the chat. This would hopefully encourage those unable to fight for first place and give them something to work for.
Some possible awards could be: -Highest scorer (obvious one) -Most improved (% increase, either over last BS or maybe over personal high score would be better) - this could be broken down into several point categories as well with one winner for each category (1M+, 500k-1M, 200k-500k, 100-200k, <100k) -some that may be hard to quantify, but may rely on nominations and a vote - best cheerleader (based on positive guild chat during BS), best visitor (based on most visits to guild outposts) -I'm sure we can come up with some creative ones
I'm not sure what we can do for a 'prize' other than a pat on the back....the only thing is drops. We could have people volunteer to give drops with the award winners getting say 20 drops for winning. I think we'd have enough volunteers.
I think it would also be fun to introduce something similar to what some of us have done in the past, those that have had bets. We could place everybody in the guild into groups (say 2,3 or 4 players) that should achieve a similar BS score (this would be based on past BS points as well as the players projection for the upcoming BS based on availability to play that weekend, etc.). The winner of each group would 'win' say 10 or 20 drops from each of the losers in that group. We would have to determine exactly how many drops, and give say a two week deadline to follow through (giving people time to heal post BS)
I think both these ideas will help motivate people to put up a few more points, and if everybody puts up a few more that adds up quickly. Sometimes people at the lower end of the points list need something to strive for....I was stuck there for a long time (until I got a bad case of the worms!)
Please post any awards ideas below, and thoughts on the awards and group competitions.

One of the category awards could be related to our lower members where points/award is given to the highest one (or two or three) point earners from the bottom third of the last strike.
I also like the idea of using a point system (easily calculated in a spreadsheet) to create a running accumulation of points for overall guild ranking. This way our long term members who have continually improved and/or have been consistent performers would have a higher guild ranking (by the numbers). I believe this would also help Nevik make decisions regarding officers. Points could also be accrued through betting as Schwabbinder discusses above.
The important thing will be to balance a point system properly. Might take a couple iterations but there's plenty of historic data to make this work.
Could also provide a point system for invasions which might encourage people to actually play the invasions... presuming FUZ2 keeps the events coming!

Forgot to mention we could also give a public pat on the back to players getting their first 100k, or 500k, or 1M (as I did this BS!) Might motivate some to keep pushing next BS!

I am good with a rewards program. Anything to improve morale and get us back to what we used to be. I would hate to see anymore good members leave.
Along with rewards, we need to be stricter on cutting the non-performers that consistently do not make the cut, the low performers that don't make any stride to improve. There are ways to help even if they don't put up huge numbers. VF clusters, ponds, propane clusters, chem clusters, etc. Cleaning Drops and requesting drops should be mandatory for members who aren't making the cut.
I don't want this to be a NAZI guild, but currently it is too lax. It would be great if we could be a consistent T11 guild. With as many members that are 1M or hovering close, this shouldn't be so hard.
Oh...FUZ2

GT50 I strongly agree with the drops part for low scoring members...they need to be asking for drops and cleaning others drops...ranking the units needed to get them to 1M. I'm waiting for ty to send me the updated file and maybe I'll take it on myself to check in with those at the bottom and see how they can be helped.

Don't put this on me! Keep your own stats if you're going to pin me with the delay jerk.
Flames and Colts and Broncos and soccer suck.
Wife is out of town tonight if you want to come for a beer after little guy goes to bed.

I'm on board. I think the new minimum should be 200k or 300k. Those that are still developing should have dedicated folks dropping and cleaning. Ie I'm the dropper for xxxx and I'm the cleaner for xxxxx. We all visit once a day at minimum that shouldn't be too tough.

Will sign up with JF as a dedicated dropper. Would do it for someone willing to use nanos for 2x scoring since that is a good way to rank.
I would like to propose some simple Flat Ass Rules:
Build to storage of 50k min
Build an area where the map opens for assists
Work towards advanced resources in lumber and concrete as well as developing all potential resources on the map, also build at least one cluster of 4 each VFs and Chems
Build towards 12 pods of ponds
Always collect lumber from ponds versus producing if you need funds
Chat often - I am okay with Rojak not doing so because he produces and does not speak English ( that said does phig?)
More to follow - steady progress on these ideas will help everyone

Agreed JF. There is no excuse for anyone not taking advantage of drops. Between you and Spolt, I don't think there is ever more than a week lull in drops. I typically only take/clean drops during 2x SP events, but I will drop anytime they are requested. I check at least once a day and usually more. I have more than enough resources to sustain nearly constant drops. I need an excuse to keep more involved.

As to internal rewards - fine if that serves to motivate. That said the game is simply about points in BSs. If you score near the top or at least improve your position over the last BS then you done good. If your map is set up to help others do good you did good too . Seems pretty simple to me.

Nice to see there is still interest in keeping IDH alive. Have to be honest and admit I'm not as die hard as many of u but will try and do my part. Thanks for the ideas

I can also see where Officer roles are awarded based on BS performance, although at this time, the Officer roles impact more clearly on the current Arena events meaning that it's more important that Officer roles go to those who are strong AND who are available to take part in the event. As you might recall, officers received bonus points for their scores in Arena events.
Maybe we can find some physical way to reward the top scorers... maybe with something as basic as a gift card or online credit somewhere that we somehow all pool a small chip-in for?
Might be something online that allows this?
Will give some extra thought...
I think the Guild store was also meant to be a means to 'sell' items to one another - who knows what fate the guild store idea has fallen to in the new merger, but maybe one day this too could be valuable means to reward top performers.
Keep up the ideas. Will hope to see something take shape in time for the next BS!

It would be great if players could award other players nanos. Wagers, rewards, etc.

I'd donate lots of my troops to those in need, maybe a dune rider to the lucky winner.
